Long Time Coming

by Going Slowly

This afternoon, we cleaned and packed the car while Matias and Mia and prepared the family for a wedding. Once everyone was in their Sunday best, we bid them farewell. Yet again, we've made some great new friends, and once more, we are leaving them. It is our not-so-secret hope that all of our international friends will come visit us in America someday.

We couldn't let them leave without the obligatory timer-group-shot:

Tintin showed up to say goodbye too:

Once they had gone, we got back to work, finally leaving at the late hour of 5PM.

We have to cover 500km to reach the eastern border of Finland; it is going to be a long night. It's hard to believe we are finally going to Russia! It feels like we've been dancing around this country for ages and now we're only a day away. Fingers crossed getting through the border will be a non-event!

Heard you made it to Russia! Yay! Congratulations! Are you planning to stop in Moscow? Hope you enjoy St. Pete! :)

We did indeed; St. Petersburg is great, but man alive is it hot! We've heard it is even worse in Moscow. We'll be there for a few days starting Friday afternoon. We have someone to stay with over the weekend, but maybe we could visit on Monday or Tuesday? I'll email you in a bit!

With my programmer background I feel the need to report bugs... ;)

If you watch a journal entry with those nice slideshow thingies and you suddenly absolutely have to watch the Mapping for the day, the Google Map is shown under the slideshow.

Nice makeover by the way!

And now I can't reproduce the bug... Soooo typical.

Haha! I know what is causing it; thanks for letting me know :D (If you let it run long enough, it'll end up on top of the map due to a bug in how I wrote the slideshow... which I'll fix shortly.)

Glad you like the makeover, I've had a lot of fun working on it.

Please send our love to Mia and the kids, and keep rocking those centuries!
