This weekend, our dear friends Mary and Jack dropped in for a visit after a marathon 24-hour trek from Minnesota. Before they continued on to their final destination of Maine, we were lucky enough to spend two wonderful days with them. Over burgers at Kevin's, and scenic drives in the countryside, we caught up with our friends as much as we could, and shared with them a slice of our new life in Vermont.
It felt like we hadn't seen eachother in a lifetime. And yet, when Tara and I actually did the math, we were flabbergasted to learn that we've only officially been in Vermont for three measly months. How is that possible?!
Jack had an interesting theory about it. If you live an eventful life, he says, your days will seem to fly by in the moment. Yet upon reflection, it will feel long and rich with experience and memories. Considering how each day seems to rush by quicker than the last, and lord knows they're eventful, I find this notion to be immensely comforting.
Thank you for visiting, Mary and Jack! We love you!
