Getting Acclimated

by Going Slowly

We spent most of the today researching visas, looking up embassies, and getting to know our hosts. They are fairly private people so we won't post much about them, but here are some photos we took today at their house.

Here are two of their pets, Tibby and Padme:

This is the outside of their beautiful home:

Here is some of the surrounding area:

While venturing out for a walk in the neighborhood, we stopped by the local "Superette" to pick up a few groceries. We were very confused at first when it appeared that a box of cereal was 23.00 TND! When we inquired, the friendly shopkeeper explained that 1 dinar is comprised of 1000 units (millimes) rather than the 100 we are used to. The price was actually 2 dinar 300. Phew.

Our bikes will be resting awhile as we wait for our packages to arrive and start our first round of visa inquiries!

Welcome to Africa! Your trip statistics is very interesting but we're missing some informations about the weather conditions; e.g. teperature, rain (in mm per square meter - hihihi), sunny hours and so on. :-) Well, maybe temps only will be OK. We wish U a lot of fun and a mild winter!
Hugs, Yves

Yves - Thanks! :) We're organized but we're not *that* organized! :-)

Cristina - Aw! There are cats EVERYWHERE in Tunisia. It is simultaneously really sad and really cute.
