Yum!! Unfortunately we didn't find any here in IL although we only looked in a couple of spots...Did you guys find fiddleheads?

They were delicious! I fried them in bacon grease though, so mostly they tasted like bacon. :-)

We have so many ferns on our land, but I recently learned that the type of fiddleheads you can eat aren't found in the woods--they're found along riverbanks and other bodies of water. So, I was content to buy a bag from the guy who sells them by the side of the road.

Lucky! I love morels. I remember picking some as a kid in the woods of the Eastern Township (Quebec), not too too far from you guys. Remember the spot, they will come back!

Micki - Glad to hear you're enjoying our website! Nope, we haven't discontinued it. We're just behind with posts. :-)

Did you find them recently? Or earlier in the spring?
