Order Tara's Bicycle Touring Cookbook Today!

29th Birthday

by Tara

Today is my 29th birthday. I wish I had something deep and important to say about life and the passing of years, but I don't. Today was simply a good day, filled with yummy food and great company. We even managed to check a few things off our to-do list. First, Tyler and I went out for brunch, before heading to the DMV to get my Vermont driver's licence.

Later in the evening, we went over to Jeremy and Hercilia's house and celebrated with our new friends. We feasted on lentil and sausage soup, accompanied with salad and glasses of red wine. Dessert was chocolate cake we picked up from a local bakery. As the lights went out and everyone sang happy birthday, I felt so lucky to be spending this day with my wonderful partner and our awesome neighbors.

Happy Belated Birthday! You are indeed fortunate. I've just come across your website and I have read almost every page, heh. My husband and I have also realized our dreams of homesteading and found 3.3 acres in the California mountains for a steal. It already has a manufactured house on it and it's rather large but I can sympathize with everything you two are going through with the cold winters (we've lived in Arizona the past 10+ years), going on a septic system, clearing land, growing food, getting chickens, etc. It certainly is an adventure! I look forward to reading more. Thanks for a wonderful blog!

Hi Beverly, thanks for the birthday wishes! So glad you stumbled upon our website. It's always so inspiring to hear stories of other folk living out their homesteading dreams. Best of luck with all of your projects!
