This winter, as we hacked our way through brown, thorny canes that snagged our pants as we walked through the woods, we figured they would eventually prove to be berry bushes. Sure enough, those canes have grown into a brambly green jungle, producing berries that have been ripening over the past few weeks. we have wild raspberries on our land!
And a few black raspberries, too!
Though there are far fewer berries than brambles, I've still managed to harvest enough in a thirty-minute picking session to concoct the occasional raspberry dessert. Wild raspberry coconut macaroons, anyone?
In a month or so, I believe we'll have a small crop of blackberries!
