There are several lemon trees in the courtyard of the apartment we're staying in, loaded down with hundreds of ripe fruits. I can't stand the sight of all that bounty being wasted, so this is my first stab at using them up. Three lemons down, eight bazillion to go!
The cake is lemon flavored, then poked all over and doused with a lemon syrup that soaks into the nooks and crannies, then topped off with a lemon glaze. It's the lemon glaze that really… erm… takes the cake. You can see the recipe here.
